I WANT THIS OUTFIT!!!
God I want this outfit sooooooo much! I love the long boots trend and I really want to get some, however the first problem is the whole hooker stigma if you don’t wear them right. Plus my home isn’t really a very big city and it’s definitely not concerned with fashion unless it’s the fashion trend of the moment (ie at the moment its tacky cheap gladiator sandals) or the fashion that costs a thousand dollars a piece and means you can poke your nose up at everyone.
The other thing is that it doesn’t really get cold enough for this outfit. That’s why I can’t wait to get to England or Paris next year for an exchange semester and I’ll be there in time for winter. It will be amazing! It would also make living in New York amazing as well when I eventually get there (which is where gossip girl is based anyway).
I love winter. I love winter fashion.
I want those boots (they’re so much classier than all the ones I’ve seen – including on the internet) and I just want that whole damn outfit!!!!! Damn Blake Lively.
Fendi love

This is a picture of Jessica Stam for Fendi and oh my gosh, doesn’t it look AMAZING!! I’ve noticed that Fendi use a lot of fur in their clothes, so I’m not such a big fan of their clothing lines, but I am, however a rather large fan of their bags. Fendi know what they’re doing when it comes to the bags. My particular favourite is the Crossword Patent Clutch $920 (pictured first below). Of course it looks better in black, but this version also has it’s own spunk and goes with the fashion line.

I’m also loving the bag that Ashlee Simpson has in the picture below – gorgeous and timeless all in one piece = brilliant. I’m also quite loving the dress that she’s wearing. Overall a very good look if you ask me.

Lastly, I’m quite in love with these Fendi suede lace up linen wedges. Personally, I even think that they look awesome in the orange colour… although they may be red and the colour is just wrong because of the photo. I think it would look better in the orange rather than the red anyways – especially paired with something like a thick patterned floral print press in purple and white with tiny bits of orange. (I can see the dress in my mid, but can’t remember who did it)

Gucci Dresses= hot.

Above are the pictures from Frida Giannini’s (the creative director for Gucci) designs for the 2009 Gucci collection. I’m loving the leather jacket with the buckles. Leather jackets have definately been the “it” item for this winter and this one here is definately rocking. The black dress, although it missed the high season for the full length casual dress, this walks that line between casual and formal. The top of the dress and neckline are a different but sexy take on the full length dress and the flower print on the dress helps to dress it down just that little bit more. I’ve always loved flowy fabrics and the chiffon and draping on the dress is definitely no exception.

Rhianna is a favourite of Frida Gianni as well and at the “A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and UNICEF” hosted by Gucci and Madonna in February 2008. I think the Gucci green dress she wore to the event is positively gorgeous and elegant. The belt adds that tiny bit of edge to the elegant dress which totally suits Rhianna.

I like this pink Gucci dress as well although I think that Rhianna’s hair and makeup sort of ruin the elegant look. I’ve never been a big fan of her short hair cut, but I think it looks quite strange here with the curls creating too much volume at the top, leaving the side and back looking cropped and boyish. While the eye makeup colour look awesome, they don’t really suit the dress and would be better suited to a night out clubbing. The lipstick is also definitely too light for the overall look. The brooch completes the look and brings the it up a notch and a half.
Stealing Ashley Greene’s style

Tell me who’s not loving this?
This look = hot right now
Herve Leger by Max Azria Spring 2009

Who doesn’t absolutely love the two dresses above? They have the short and harsh cut designs of a modern dress, and the lines and colours combined with the cut give it an almost futuristic sense, but Azria’s use of the lines around the waist i genius giving it that feminine touch as it accentuates the females naturally smaller waist and therefore helping to produce curves! How marvelous!
the dress below is an older dress by Azria, but I’m totally diggin’ on how cute it is! Ashlee Simpson wore it ti the Mtv Video Awards in 2007 and I think she looks stunning. Her beach swept locks also suit the dress (probably more so than the carefree style of the model from the Azria catwalk). Although the model does have the waist looking smaller and as such accentuates the dress more lets face it.

Victorias Secrets Bridal Underwear 2009

I am so totally loving the underwear ensemble above! I mean, hot or what?!? Of course the fact that Miranda Kerr is modelling it doesn’t exact hurt at all, but damn it’s still so cute and yet sexy! The one below is also pretty damn hot. I’m loving the bra and suspenders, but not the lace skirt thing so much. Definately a kinky night spent inside sort of thing to wear… or a “birthday present”… or wedding night. Whatever

Mui Mui shoes to die for!

These shoes by Mui Mui are to die for. They’re both elegance and party chic in one shoe. If they were the same creamy golden all over then they would be ideal as simple wedding shoes that wouldn’t take away from the dress. Of course that would only be in the event that you didn’t have a snow white dress.
For a golden cream coloured dress though, these would be tres tres magnifique! So lovely! Even with the black soles and heels, I think I would still use them as wedding shoes or at least at a black tie event – ie when wearing a ball dress.
Ana Torres 2009 Bridal Collection
The following dress has a classic basic style which looks lovely but is dressed up with the sun-ray pleats the whole way around the skirt of the dress. It elongates the skirt (and thus the legs) of the bride. The change of direction as the fabric is pulled tight around the waist helps to accentuate the small waist. Loving it.

I’m in love with the next dress because of the use of lace. It looks like very fine lace and that is one of my all time dreams for a wedding dress so of course I was drawn to this dress. The beautiful flow and falling of the skirt, combined with the golden embroidery and pearls around the waist, just top off the whole design. Dream design!

Terry Fox 2009 Bridal Collection

The bottom of the dress and the edging shown on the right side of the dress (the left as we see it) looks horrible. but the photo shoot is gorgeous and the bodice with matching jewelry is nothing short of beautiful.
One Teaspoon 2009 Winter Collection

OT6107 Cavalry Body Suit | $109.95
OT6200 Salvaged Recycled Short | $89.95
I don’t like body suits, but man I positively love this body suit by One Teaspoon in their new collection.

OT6380 Photocopy Bird A-Line | $69.95
OT6140 Union Jacket | $129.95
OT6200 Salvaged Recycled Short | $89.95
I’m loving this Union Jacket in the Winter Collection and I think the signature print for One Teaspoon (the hummingbird) looks adorable of the singlet and paired with the cropped Union Jacket. Of course the most annoying thing about both of these is the pricing of them.
Ruth Tarvydas Spring Summer 2009 “Hollywood” Collection
Another posting for the Tarvydas Collections. This is from the “Hollywood” Spring Summer Collection of 2009.I chose to post this dress because of the detailing on the front of the dress around the neck line. The picture really isn’t that good and doesn’t show off the dress properly because the model is so pale and as a result the dress doesn’t stand out, but I have seen it before on another girl wearing it to their school ball and it looked amazing. It would look positively stunning in either a dark but bright red or royal blue with silver detailing, or in a darker purple with golden detailing.

Ruth Tarvydas Autumn Winter Collection 2009

I’m loving these two dresses (above and below) by Ruth Tarvydas. They’re both part of the new Autumn Winter Collection of 2009. I’m loving the fabric choice of the top dress and the details around the strap and neck line. I am positively in love with the back of the dress below as well. I true Tarvydas style the beading and chain work in the detailing would most likely be extremely heavy and weighty, but it looks so marvelous, so who cares right? After all, us females suffer for fashion all the time.

This dress here is another favourite from the collection. Generally speaking I don’t like the whole metallic thing or completely beaded and shiny dress sort of thing, but this along with very few other things has become an exception to my usual disliking. I’m also loving the loose hanging material at the bottom of the extremely low cut backing of the dress. I’m not a big fan of the new craze about the low cut backings… but that’s mainly because I personally can’t pull it off. The style is actually really sexy though.

Burberry Campaign 2009

I must say that I am absolutely loving the new Burberry Campaign featuring Emma Watson as the sole female model. Emma Watson is looking gorgeous and I’m totally digging the jackets she wears as well as the bag in the above shot.

Zuhair Murad 2009 Spring Summer Collection
These are just a couple of the dresses from the Zuhair Murad 2009 Spring Summer Collection – my favourite ones of course.

The photography for these dresses, both above and below, is the style I love to see for the maxi dresses with lots of fabric. It looks awesome and you get to see just how big the skirt is.I love the pattern and colour of the dress below in particular. As much as I like the backing of that dress as well, I adore the above dress’s neck and waist line – the tucks, folds, draping, and to top it off, the added patterning. They both remind me of the versions that I have seen produced by Kookai in the 2009 Summer Collection.

The use of colours in the dress below are beautiful. I usually absolutely hate brown and blue being mixed together, but this looks exquisite – especially with the soft fabric and draping. It’s beautifully emphasised with the lines of the folds at the top of the dress and the knot tie over.

Generally, I hate both metallic dresses and sequined dresses. However this seasons rise in use of sequins for party dresses has made me begin to appreciate the more classier styles of it. This dress below by Zuhair Murad, is beautifully done and manages to looks classy and sophisticated without the usual tackiness that I usually relate to shiny over the top pieces.

Lazaro Autumn 2009 Bridal Collection
I absolutely love the set design and backdrop for the photography of this campaign. It’s exquisite and I love the mysterious shadows and lurkings of hidden forests/flora. It’s beautiful and I think it really sets the wedding gowns off with the colour scheme they chose. The dresses stand out extremely well and the detail looks amazing. I’m probably more in love with the photography than the dresses, but as far as big dresses go, I quite like this top dress. I like the details around the bodice with the lace in particular.

Normally I’m not a fan of big puffy “princess” dresses, nor am I a fan of dresses like the one below with the skirt not starting and accentuating outwards until mid thigh, but in this case, I was quite taken back by the design. It still reminds me immensely of the bridesmaid dresses in the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. That alone scares me. I think I am perhaps more impartial to this dress because again I like the photography and the scene.

Vintage Ozzi Clark Gown on the Red Carpet

This 1970′s vintage Ozzi Clark gown was worn by Miss Fashionista of the moment, Emma Watson. She appeared on the red carpet for the London premiere of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in the gorgeous full length gown. I’m positively in love with it and the way that it both drapes and the way that it has been cut.
Her elegant but simple up do and makeup compliments the dress perfectly and she has an overall feminine chic look going on here. Of course it probably helps that she is naturally gorgeous… What I wouldn’t give to trade places.
Of course, it’s unfortunate for her that the waist high split became a hazard when mixed with gusty winds at bad weather at the premiere. She had what is now being called her own little ‘Marilyn Monroe moment’ (seen left). At least she was wearing underwear is all I say.
The Beginning…
Well I’d like to say a grand big hello to the opening of this new blog. Most of the stuff that I put on here is just going to be things that I see and like. So in many ways, it’ll probably be more of certain styles and not necessarily up to date what in.
Rants and Raves. That’s what I do… A lot of the time long windedly.
Hopefully you’ll enjoy some of it.
Cherio xx
